We remove and replace your concrete gutters carefully and properly.
We usually use a masonry chainsaw / circular saw to make the initial cuts. We might use a mechanical grinder to ‘clean up’ any remaining parts. This leaves a nice clean, plumb face to work with after.
We extend the rafters where necessary / practicable, as this affords more projection over the walls. However, it is not always the best thing to do, especially if a neighbour’s property is already done without extended rafters.
Any air gap we can create between the old Finlock and the new work will stop the problem of the cold ‘bridging’ from the outside to the inside. We do not usually add any insulation to the cut face of the Finlock, because adding insulation in this small area only will not make any thermal improvement to the property. If we can see room for thermal improvements, we’ll tell you.
We use top quality tantalised timbers and stainless steel fixings to shore up all the new works. We don’t scrimp on this. We also fit air vents and eaves trays as standard. Any new membrane is ‘breathable’, and this is done as a matter of course. If we need to provide extra rows of tiles we will.
We finish the works to achieve the neatest, most aesthetically pleasing result we can. We know how to fix the fascias so they are not scattered with unnecessary fixings on show, and we know how to NOT make your gutters creak every morning when the sun comes up!
Our USP in this part of our service is the fact we never use a PVCu return to close the end of the new works. We either fit new Finlock Stopped Ends or construct similar to match the neighbour’s existing gutters. This means your neighbour is a happy as they could be with our involvement near their property!
